1992
Born in ‘92 after Aldershot FC became the first Football League team to fold mid-season since Accrington Stanley did 30 years before.
2003
After just 11 years of the club, they had already earned four promotions.
2008
With a record 101 points and an 18-game unbeaten run, Aldershot Town were crowned National League Champions.

Relegated from the EFL and in administration

History of the teams’ meetings
With both sides established as National League mainstays, they have met plenty of times in recent years.
In almost unheard-of circumstances, last season’s games both ended 1-5 to the respective away team. Aldershot did it first in August with Ryan Hill providing a brace. Then in January, Solihull got their revenge with a masterclass of their own.
If last season’s games are anything to go by, then this weekend’s game should be fireworks!
Fun Facts
Solihull Moors FC makes an effort to keep the historical value of their two merging entities. Every season they alternate their away kits to match the colours of the previous home kits of Moor Green and Solihull Borough.
Last season, the Moors’ disciplinary record plagued their results. There was a stretch where in five games, three separate players saw red. These blunders brought them to the top three for red cards that season; ironically, Aldershot were first with 10.
Like some other National League sides, Solihull Moors have opened their doors to Birmingham City women. However, they have since moved away and now play games at the men’s stadium, St Andrews.

Jake Wakeling
Wakeling was a talented youngster with stints at fellow Midlands clubs West Brom and Leicester. He has since played over 60 times in the Football League with a decent record in his first season at Swindon.
Despite this, Wakeling has now returned to the Midlands for Solihull, where, in front of goal, he has managed a respectable tally.
Callum McFarlane
Permanently signed by the Moors last summer, after being released by Premier League side Fulham.
McFarlane spent part of last season on loan in the league below with stints at Hereford and Oxford City. However, he is back for this season, and recently scored against Middlesbrough in the National League Cup.

Marcus Dinanga
Despite being 29 years old, Dinanga has become a well-known striker across the league, playing for several different clubs over his 127 appearances.
His peak came in the 2023/24 campaign, when he managed 19 goals and eight assists for Gateshead. This led to a move into the Football League with Bromley, though this didn’t work out as he didn’t play regularly.
Jacob Borgnis
Borgnis is a defensive midfielder who came through the well-acknowledged Reading academy.
He made the move to the Shots in the summer, and in the process, became the first player from New Zealand to sign for the club. It’s his first permanent move, and he featured in the first three games of the campaign.
